3Rivers WOmyn's Music Festival
Threerivers womyns music festival is an event developed for and by womyn of color with the focus and ideology of holding and creating space that is safe, empowering, and honoring of the vast range of experiences of womyn of Asian/Pacific Islander, Arab/Middle Eastern, Black/African American/Carribean/West Indies, Native/Indigenous, and Hispanic/Latin descent through workshops, sports, performances, and ceremonies, to:
- Optimize opportunity for community building, fostering leadership, and self-empowerment, as well as provide the tools that would assist in thriving in the workforce, home, and community around topics of equality, health, spirituality, and social justice
- Cultivate respect for diverse backgrounds and the various intersections of race, age, socialism-economic status, ability, sexual orientation, and self expression, by fostering a holistic integrated journey involving all aspects of mind, body, and soul
- Provide a safe environment where womyn can seek refuge, heal, transcend oppressive language, and support others, surrounding issues related to trauma, prejudice, and prolonged exposure to stress that stems from one's racial identity.
